Improving one muscle while ignoring the system often leaves athletes vulnerable when training intensity increases.

Returning to unrestricted sprinting isn’t a single decision.

As physical demands increase, the athlete should demonstrate the ability to tolerate greater levels of force, speed, and complexity before advancing further.
Skipping steps doesn’t always lead to immediate problems.
Sometimes it simply delays them until the next hard sprint, practice, or competition.

An athlete may feel ready.
